Secretary Election

As of June 3, 2022, Section G12N is looking for a Section Secretary!

The Section Secretary is an integral part of the Section team. They help with communication and record keeping, planning, and promotion.

Participation at the Section level is to join a supportive community focused on serving Arrowmen across the Section. Planning large-scale events for Scouts across three states, consistent communication at a broad level, and supporting lodges in improving their programs are all skills that will prepare you for future professional work.

The official role of Section Secretary includes these responsibilities:

  1. Assists the section chief in communicating with members of the council of chiefs and advisers.

  2. Records the minutes of all meetings of the council of chiefs and the conclave business meeting. Distributes copies of all minutes.

  3. Maintains an up-to-date roster of names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of the council of chiefs members.

  4. Communicates registration details of the annual ACT conference, ensuring each lodge has the opportunity to participate.

  5. Responsible for influencing positive performance of lodges in the Lodge Performance Measurement Program by: (1) periodically following-up on assigned lodge PMP progress; (2) raising areas of performance concern to section leadership; and (3) providing a regular communication conduit between assigned lodges and the section.

  6. Promotes participation in region and national events.

  7. Serves as an example of the ideals of the BSA and the Order of the Arrow.

  8. Wears the Scout uniform correctly.

  9. Attends council of chiefs meetings, and section officer seminars.
